The House That Fisk Built
Our story starts with the Fisk family's long time connection to building homes on Canvey. Many buyers came from London as this genuine advertisement from a publication known as ‘London and Suburbs Old And New Useful Knowledge For Health And Home’, published in 1933 illustrates.
The Estate agency was opened in 1965; Frederick Fisk (known as Fred) was a builder on Canvey Island from the 1920s, with his family continuing the business into the 1970s.
By 1965 Fred Fisk had retired and his son John took over the family House Building business. John Pring was selling the John Fisk new build homes when the original partnership was formed. John Fisk was very competitive in everything he did, including winning the inaugral 1961 Little Americas Cup, but - and this is important - always within the rules. Fisks still live by this founding ethic: “Be competitive. Never give up. Obey the rules.”

John Pring invested in the company and became the sole owner during the early 1970s, allowing John Fisk to concentrate on his passion for sailing and boat building.
An additional branch of John Fisk Estate Agents soon opened in Benfleet, allowing us to serve the whole of Castle Point.
To this day, Fisks remains a family-run estate agency, with John Pring remaining as our Managing Director and his son James having established Fisks London at Canary Wharf.

In fact John is still an international member of the the Nation Association of Realters in the USA. As our guiding hand, his experience has become our knowledge base.
